This week on "The Adventures of a Family Photographer" we get to take a look into what it is like to be a Family and Children's Photographer! When your co-workers are toddlers and elementary school aged children, it means you never know what is going to happen. You have to be able to think on your feet, and when things don't go according to all your careful planning, you have to be able to improvise and keep it FUN! This was just the case during the 'H' Family Photo Shoot.
We met at the Park, and to ease into things with the boys, we starting looking for bugs and cool sticks while we walked a short way to our location. All was going well, until ... My littlest co-worker tripped, fell, and scraped up his knee! We hadn't even started yet! Not a single photo had been taken! My shot list went right out the window, and it was time to figure out a way to make him want to work with us. It took a few minutes of consoling, playing nature detectives, talking about our favorite games, and making sure he felt like we were giving him some control back. In the end, we got some smiles and I even found a Ninja Turtle Band-aid to make the boo boo's all better.
In true real life vs. Instagram fashion ... This is actually how most of my sessions go!
